KoRn's Back Up Band

KORN's BACK UP BAND

With the departure of guitarist Head, KoRn wanted to change not only their sound on their CD but the sound of their live show as well. So for the See You On The Other Side World Tour KoRn introduced their first ever back-up band. Since then, Korn has been using a back-up band.

FORMER BACK UP BAND PARTICIPANTS

JOEY JORDISON
Animal Mask: None
Job: Drummer
Bio: Nathan Jonas Jordison (born on April 26, 1975 in Des Moines, Iowa) more commonly known as Joey Jordison, is an American drummer and guitarist. He is best known for his role as the drummer for metal band Slipknot during the 1990s and 2000s. He is also well known as the guitarist for Murderdolls, a glam metal/horror punk band which he founded in the 2000s, that is currently on hiatus due to the Murderdolls' members' side projects. Since the spring of 2006, he has been the live drummer for the industrial metal band Ministry. For most of 2007 Joey Jordison joined Korn including Korn's European tour, 2007's Family Values Tour, and the Bitch We Have a Problem Tour before leaving to work with his original band Slipknot.

ROB PATTERSON
Animal Mask: White Mask
Job: Guitar
Bio: Rob Patterson(ex-Otep) was the touring guitarist for KoRn. Patterson played hidden from view behind the amplifiers on the right side of the stage during most of the 2005 tour, but started playing onstage behind a mask when he was joined by a back-up band. For the 2006 tour, he is also contributing backing vocals. He followed KoRn around since the See You On The Other Side World Tour but did not join them again for KoRn's 2007 tours. It was announced Rob would no longer be KoRn's second guitarist and would be replaced by Clint Lowery. Munky has said that he was unhappy about a few things with Rob and it was time for a change. Munky wanted someone he would feel more comfortable with on stage. Rob did not comment on the situation but on a Myspace blog titled "Korn" he said, "I <3 JD, James, Reggie, David, Jochum (scrotum picaso) , Kalen & Zac". Rob was later brought back to participate in Korn's European leg of the Bitch We Have a Problem tour to fill-in for Shane Gibson, the current touring guitarist. Munky had to leave the tour due to "personal and family reasons" and Shane Gibson took over for Munky, while Rob took over for Shane.

CLINT LOWERY
Animal Mask: None
Job: Guitar
Bio: Clint Lowery was the replacement touring guitarist for KoRn after Rob Patterson was relieved of his duties. He was previously with the bands Still rain and Sevendust and is currently playing lead guitar in the band Dark New Day. Lowery got his start in the rock music scene by forming a band with his younger brother, Corey Lowery, and friend, Troy McLawhorn. Their band, Still Rain, toured the Southeast United States club circuit in the early 1990s. Lowery's claim to fame began with the band Sevendust. Munky has said that he was uncomfortable with Rob Patterson and it was time for change. He also said that he was a big Sevendust fan and wanted Clint to join so he called Clint himself. Clint's first performance with KoRn was on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. He did not wear a mask like the previous guitarist. Clint is said to be a talented guitarist as well as a talented singer. Clint joined the band as a back-up for all of the tours in 2007 but is still the guitarist for his band Dark New Day who don't have a problem with it. He left the back-up band abruptly during Korn's Bitch We Have a Problem tour in 2007 for 'personal and family issues'. Shane Gibson later took over the touring guitarist spot.

TERRY BOZZIO
Animal Mask: None
Job: Drums
Bio: Terry Bozzio was part of KoRn according to Jonathan Davis but JD also said the door is always open for David to return. Terry made his name recording and touring with Frank Zappa (and appearing in the concert movie Baby Snakes), and then the band UK. After his audition for Zappa, all the drummers behind him in the line left, and he was accepted. He was particularly famous for performing Zappa's "The Black Page", a piece of music designed to be a "musician's nightmare" a page so filled with notes as to be almost black. Bozzio went on to form Missing Persons with his then-wife and lead vocalist Dale Bozzio. Bozzio is noted for creating the melodic ostinato for the drum set. In most of Bozzio's works the ostinato is played using various bass drum and hi-hat permutations while he solos against these rhythms using his hands. Bozzio is the studio drummer for KoRn's eighth studio album but will not tour with KoRn or be a part of the band any longer for unspecified reasons.

MICHAEL JOCHUM
Animal Mask: Pig
Job: Percussion
Bio: Michael Jochum was the percussionist for KoRn. He was the the most obscure member of the back-up band. It had been learned that Michael Jochum is the drummer in the Stephen Collins & The 7th Band. You might remember Stephen Collins as the dad on the WB show 7th Heaven. Michael also endorses the company Factory Metal Percussion who on thier offical site credits Michael for using thier products during AOL Sessions. Michael is not only a drummer but a musical director. He has followed KoRn around since the See You On The Other Side World Tour and participated in Korn's AOL sessions and MTV Unplugged. Michael joined the band for Korn's trek across Europe in 2007 but has since been absent because 'his services were no longer needed' but continues to participate in Jonathan Davis' solo projects, often under the name 'The Simply Fuckin' Amazings' - a 'band' name given to Zac Baird, Michael Jochum, Miles Mosley, Shenkar, and Shane Gibson.
